Education & Training
After graduating with honors from Upstate Medical University’s College of Health Professions with a Bachelor’s degree, Dr. Dupont began his healthcare career as a respiratory therapist at a Level I Trauma Center in Syracuse, New York. There, he learned to maintain poise under pressure while participating in life-saving resuscitation efforts (“code” responses), and gained experience assisting in the treatment of patients from the ER to the ICU, on the evening shift. By day, he continued pursuing his dream of becoming a physician by completing medical school prerequisite courses at SUNY Oswego. During this time, he took the Mensa qualification exam—an assessment identifying individuals in the top 2% worldwide based on IQ—and was inducted into Mensa, the world’s largest and oldest high-IQ society.
While continuing to work part-time as a respiratory therapist, Dr. Dupont earned his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He then completed a rigorous three-year podiatric residency at Roxborough Memorial Hospital, where he received extensive training in wound care, diabetic limb salvage, and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. At his residency graduation ceremony, he was recognized by his program director for his exceptional surgical skill.
East To West
After several years practicing in Maryland, Dr. Dupont ventured west in the spring of 2019, drawn by the Bay Area’s natural beauty, great weather, and easygoing, welcoming culture. Once here, he accepted a position treating a large volume of patients with fungal nail infections. Within months, he was receiving recognition from his colleagues for the remarkable results he achieved. He continued honing his treatment approach over the next two years. Having gained that experience, and confidence, in the summer of 2021 he was finally ready to open his own practice. It was then that Bay Area Fungal Nail Clinic was created.
With a total of 20 years of healthcare experience, Dr. Dupont has the confidence and ability to put patients at ease while quickly and skillfully performing any necessary procedures or treatment modalities. He is committed to minimizing wait times and keeping costs affordable, while delivering effective solutions for a hard to treat problem that many patients have been told they must “live with.”
